Q: Why did the girls go down to the river?
A: To see Normie Rowe.
Returning to South Australia, two rock and roll legends, Normie Rowe and Gil Matthews, are catching up with life-time mate, Adelaide’s King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Barrie McAskill.
Normie still attracts a crowd of adoring fans where-ever he goes and Gil comes from 100% pedigree, working with Billy Thorpe, La De Das, Levi Smith’s Clefs (with Barrie) AND everybody wanted Barrie McAskill (Clefs, Fabulous Drifters) in their band. His voice and stage presence created a new standard in excellence.
Starring alongside Normie Rowe, Gil Matthews and Barrie McAskill will be Steve Kelson (keyboards), Barrie’s wife Jan McAskill, son Tarrin McAskill and fantastic Adelaide band “Don’t Tell Joe”.
Find out from the people who were there, entrenched in it all. The sweat, the beer and the screaming crowds. Sing-a-long to music that has inspired a nation and drift back to a time when the only wrist watch you could talk to was a prop on Dick Tracy’s Arm.
These guys have seen it all, and it’s a night that they’d love to share with you.
Maybe Nan and Pop might like a ticket from Santa.
