Two Australian stars and enduring favourites of the veteran community come together in a special show celebrating their remarkable lives in entertainment and their unwavering support for those who have served our country in the Australian Defence Force.

Little Pattie

At just 15 years of age, Little Pattie joined the late Col Joye and his band, The Joye Boys, on a concert tour entertaining Australian forces serving in South Vietnam.

The year was 1966. On 18 August, while their concert was in full swing, the first shots rang out, heralding the beginning of the Battle of Long Tan. The performers were hurried to safety as one of Australia’s most significant battles unfolded around them.

This extraordinary experience became indelibly etched into Pattie’s life. Since then, Little Pattie has become a beloved champion of the ex-service community, supporting countless causes dedicated to veterans and their families.

Normie Rowe AM

Normie Rowe was Australia’s King of Pop in 1967 when he received notice that he had been called up for National Service. On the verge of international stardom, his flourishing career was suddenly put on hold.

Normie served with distinction in the 3rd Cavalry Regiment, based at Nui Dat, first as a driver and later as a crew commander of an Armoured Personnel Carrier, completing his service with the rank of Corporal.

Following his return, Normie rebuilt his career through resilience, talent and continuous reinvention, carving out one of Australia’s longest and most distinguished careers in entertainment.

His deep commitment to supporting fellow veterans has become a hallmark of his life. He has been recognised with an Advance Australia Award, induction into the ARIA Hall of Fame, and was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for his outstanding service to veterans, entertainment and the broader Australian community.

Normie’s performance as Jean Valjean in the original Australian production of *Les Misérables* was widely acclaimed as a triumph.
